Congratulations Endrit!

On the 13th of April, Endrit Shehaj successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis entitled "Space Geodetic Techniques for Retrieval of High-Resolution Atmospheric Water Vapor Fields".

Endrit is the last Ph.D. student from the Mathematical and Physical Geodesy (MPG) group led by Prof. Rothacher.

During his studies he was supervised by Prof. Alain Geiger and Prof. Markus Rothacher.
In his thesis, Endrit used advanced mathematical tools to model tropospheric effects in microwave satellite signals, as well as to process and model tropospheric observations of different microwave techniques with the aim to derive improved meteorological products. His thesis 'Space Geodetic Techniques for retrieval of High-Resolution Atmospheric Water Vapor Fields' investigates applications of least-squares collocation and machine learning methods to tropospheric observations of ground-based GNSS, satellite radar, GNSS radio occultations and meteorological data from ground-based stations and numerical weather prediction models.

After the Ph.D. defense, there was a nice apéro with the examination committee, colleagues, and family to celebrate Endrit's achievement.
It has been a pleasure working with you and we are happy to continue working with you in the coming months!
