Welcome Daniel!
We are happy to welcome Hans Daniel Platz to the Space Geodesy group as a new postdoc.
Daniel obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and Geodesy and his Master’s degree in Geodesy and Geoinformation from TU Darmstadt. He subsequently continued at TU Darmstadt as a research associate and doctoral researcher, completing his PhD in 2026.
During his doctoral research, Daniel focused on multi-frequency and multi-GNSS PPP-RTK network processing, ambiguity resolution, and GNSS observation modelling. His work included the generation and performance assessment of multi-GNSS, multi-frequency PPP-RTK products, different formulations of GNSS network processing, and the estimation and impact of absolute antenna group delay variations.
At Space Geodesy, Daniel will build on his background in GNSS positioning and navigation, with a new research focus on GNSS spoofing detection and classification using deep learning in combination with factor graph optimization. His work will explore how data-driven methods can be integrated into factor graph-based navigation frameworks to improve the robustness and reliability of GNSS-based positioning under spoofing attacks.
