EGU2025 in Vienna – A Week of Science and Celebration

Five members of our research group attended the EGU General Assembly 2025 in Vienna, held during the last week of April from 27 April–2 May 2025.

The conference offered a wide range of fascinating oral presentations and poster sessions across numerous scientific disciplines. It was also a valuable opportunity to connect with colleagues and engage in insightful discussions.

A particular highlight for our group was the recognition of Matthias Schartner, who received the 2025 Geodesy Division Outstanding Early Career Scientist Award for his contributions to VLBI scheduling. In recognition of this achievement, Matthias was invited to give an excellent lecture titled "The Art of VLBI Scheduling", which was followed by the prestigious Vening Meinesz Medal Lecture delivered by René Forsberg.

To cap off that exciting day, our group gathered to celebrate with a delicious pizza dinner.
