9th International Colloquium on Scientific and Fundamental Aspects of GNSS
The 9th International Colloquium on Scientific and Fundamental Aspects of GNSS took place in Wrocław, Poland, from 25 to 27 September 2024.
Organized by the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Science, the event brought together experts from the European scientific community along with international partners to discuss the latest developments in the use of Galileo and other GNSS. The topics covered a wide range, including satellite navigation, orbit determination, fundamental physics and meteorology. A highlight was ESA's planned Genesis mission, a satellite designed to combine the major space geodetic techniques, including GNSS, SLR, VLBI and DORIS, to establish a global reference frame with millimeter-level accuracy. Lukas Müller from the Space Geodesy group gave a presentation on the formation of a geodetic network in space using GPS observations from geodetic Earth observation satellites.
