Swiss Geoscience Meeting 2023

The Swiss Geoscience Meeting (SGM) was held in Mendrisio, Switzerland, on November 17 and 18, 2023. The Space Geodesy group attended the meeting, presented their research and enjoyed the nice weather in Mendrisio.

The SGM was organized by the Institute of Earth Sciences of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI) and the Platform Geosciences of the Swiss Academy of Sciences (SCNAT), providing an ideal environment for geoscientists to present the latest results of their research and to foster connections and discussion among colleagues. There were 26 symposia sessions, covering the diverse spectrum of current geosciences research in Switzerland, encompassing the lithosphere, the hydrosphere, the atmosphere, etc.

The Geodesy session was organized as an individual symposia session for the first time, convened by Prof. Adrian Jäggi, Prof. Benedikt Soja and Dr. Daniel Willi. On the last day, participants visited the Museo dei fossili del Monte San Giorgio, which is world-famous for its rich collection of fossils.
