Julia Koch is now member of the GGOS Governing Board
Julia Koch is now member of the GGOS Governing Board, which is the central oversight and decision making body of GGOS. She was elected unanimously to take over the position of the early career scientist member. Congratulations!
In the next four years, she is a voting member of the Governing Board and will be able to vote for and discuss various GGOS issues written down in the GGOS Strategic Plan.
The mission of GGOS is the long-term continuous quantification of the Earth's changes in a truly stable frame of reference, everywhere on the Earth surface, at any time, and at high spatial resolution.
To achieve this goal a strong cooperation among the geodetic, geodynamic and geophysical communities, and external stakeholders is needed.
GGOS aims to provide this integration at the highest level, in service to the scientific community and society as a whole.
Together with Prof. Bendikt Soja, who is the chair of the GGOS Focus Area AI4G, Space Geodesy has now 2 members in the GGOS Governing Board.
