New satellite orbit database
With this post, we would like to promote our new satellite orbit database.
The satellite orbit database collects Two-Line Element (TLE) entries from external page CelesTrak and stores them in a public database. The database can be queried via a web interface as well as an API, which makes it very easy-to-use and versatile. Access information is provided on the webpage. We also provide simple query examples using Curl and Python. The main objective of the database is to track satellites emitting radiation at frequencies observed by VLBI stations. Thus, it will help to mitigate spaceborne radio frequency interference for VLBI observations. The satellite orbit information can be used in VLBI scheduling software packages to avoid observations close to potentially harmful satellites.
